Antares-type 3D model

A cel-shaded Blender3D model of the Antares-type of ship seen originally in Star Trek The Animated Series as a 'Robot Grain Ship'. It took some liberties with the design, but the goal was to emulate the feel of TAS. I think with some success!

In TAS the ship lacked the front section and was a 'Robot Grain Ship' in the episode "More Tribbles, More Troubles"

The ship was seen again when The Original Series was given a CGI remaster. The crew compartment at the front was then added.

This is my first foray into the cel-shaded style using Blender. The goal was to emulate the style of The Animated Series, albeit with considerably more detail.

I also made several graphics for the ship's livery.

In canon the ship is simply known as 'Antares-type', 'Robot Grain Ship' or similar. Odesa-class is the name I have chosen for my own variant.

I have ideas for more ships I would like to make in this TAS style, including a Klingon D7 I have mostly built. We shall see!

I also made my own versions of the rare United Federation of Planets pennant to use as a decal on the ship.

The model in fact became much more detailed than necessary and I ended up remodeling much of it to better suit the 2D look.

Some details: I was unaccountably satisfied with the shape of the bridge.

And the hexagonal sensor dome. Also quite proud of the anisotropic effect on the deflector.

I'm pleased with the livery too. And the shape of the nacelle pylons is very satisfying to me.

The impulse deck is much as it was on the Okida plans I think, but it's still a highlight for me. And the addition of the shuttlebay landing lights was minor but added a lot, IMO.
