Jurassic Park logo recreation

Vector recreation of the iconic Jurassic Park logo. Aside from being a little tedious to draw all the details, this one was pretty straightforward to make. However I made what turned out to be a fairly cool discovery in the process: In looking for a nice clean version of that red palm tree image that was used in so much of the film's marketing when I found the original source photo by travel photographers Dallas and John Heaton. It's included at the bottom of this post and you can see how parts of the treeline were cloned to make the final Jurassic Park image.

Turns out fans had been searching for this for years!

Detail. It didn't take 65 million years to make, but it felt like it tracing all those dino bones and trees!

The font used for the logo was Neuland, but of course many adjustments were made by the designer. I reproduced the lettering by hand, as always.

Some of the references used. The story behind the creation of the original logo by Chip Kidd is quite interesting. I went back to photos and images of the same original T-rex skeleton for extra clarity.
